2. Information We Collect
Account information: When you create an account or sign in via Google, Facebook, or Microsoft, we receive your email address and display name from the identity provider.
Media files: Audio and video files you upload for transcription are stored in Amazon S3 for a period that depends on your plan (see Data Retention).
Transcription data: The text output generated from your media files, stored alongside the media and subject to the same retention.
Usage data: We use a browser cookie (visitor_id) to associate anonymous transcriptions with your browser session. This cookie is replaced by your account identity when you sign in.
Payment information: If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details. We receive your Stripe customer ID and subscription status.

4. Pixelion Live Captions (Chrome extension)
Pixelion Live Captions is our Chrome extension. It captures audio from the browser tab you choose, or from your microphone, only while you run a session, and shows live captions or translations.
Audio: During a session, audio is sent directly from your browser to OpenAI to produce the transcript or translation. Pixelion's servers do not receive or store this audio. OpenAI processes it under its own terms.
What we receive: When you start a session we receive your account identity, the session mode and language, a session identifier and the length of the session, so that we can apply your plan's usage limits. If you choose Save to Pixelion, we also receive the transcript text, the title and web address of the page you captured, the duration and the languages.
Storage: Saved transcripts are stored in your Pixelion library under the retention described in Data Retention. Unsaved transcripts stay in your browser's local storage until you clear them or remove the extension.
Permissions: The extension asks for access to the current tab's audio, a side panel, local storage, sign-in, and the ability to show a caption overlay on the tab you start a session on. It does not read page contents other than the page title and web address of the tab you caption.
Sharing: We do not sell your data. Audio goes to OpenAI to provide captions.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate Pixelion:
- Stripe - payment processing for paid subscriptions
- Google, Facebook, Microsoft - social sign-in via OAuth (we only receive your email and name)
- Amazon Cognito - account sign-in and identity management
- OpenAI - speech transcription and translation (audio from live sessions is sent directly from your browser; audio and text from uploaded files are processed on our behalf)
- Amazon Web Services - hosting and storage
6. Data Retention
Retention depends on your plan. Uploaded media files and transcripts on a Free plan are automatically deleted after 7 days. On a Pro plan they are kept for up to 365 days. On other paid plans they are kept until you delete them. You can delete a job at any time from your library, and you can ask us to delete your account and data by emailing info@pixelsolutions.biz. Account information is retained as long as your account exists.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Data is shared with the services listed in Third-Party Services only as necessary to provide the service.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at info@pixelsolutions.biz.
9. Cookies
We use a single functional cookie (visitor_id) to track anonymous sessions. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
